January's Rotation!

Since tomorrow is a rest day, I am going to post January's rotation. (Disclaimer: This is just a plan and can change.)  Click on the picture to make it bigger.

Get Ripped and Chiseled

Today I did Get Ripped and Chiseled from Jari Love. I received this one in a trade and it has been sitting on my shelf for a while. (approx. 64 mins) Jari uses light weights, high reps and 2-3 targeted exercises to totally fatigue a single muscle group. This overload principle is a proven weight-training technique designed to break through fitness "plateaus." You get 15 separate segments. Each one begins with a description of what's coming - exercises, number of reps and weight levels. Then it's 25 to 90 reps at varied tempos. positions and rang-of-motions. The exercises are all classics like squats, lunges, bicep curls and overhead presses.

Jari is not one of my favorite instructors but I do like her workouts. They really give you a good workout. One of the things I don't like about Jari is that after every exercise she asks "How did you do." The first time she did this I did not mind, but after the 4th time I was thinking that she needs to come up with something else to say. I have 5 of her 8 workouts and she says this after every exercise. I did not like the stretch section of the workout. Instead of instructing you through the stretches, Jari talks to her cast and you were just supposed to follow along.

Over all I give the workout itself 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

High/Low Intervals from Hardcore Extreme

The rest of this month I plan on doing workouts that I received in trades and have not done yet.  Today I did High/Low Intervals from Hardcore Extreme.  What a fun hard workout from Cathe's Hardcore Series.  This workout consists of segments from Low Max, Imax 3 and Kick Max.  Here is the breakdown: (approx 73 mins): Warm up, step combo 1 and blast from Low Max, Imax intervals 2 & 3 with their blasts, Low Max step combo 3 with blast, Imax 6 & 7 with thier blasts, Low Max step combo 4 with blast, Imax 10 with blast, Kick Max blast challenge and stretch.  I did not like the Imax blast sections so the next time I do this, I will skip them and do each Imax combos twice. 4 out 5 stars.

My Rotation for the rest of December.

Yesterday I did the first 30 mins of Amy Bento's Rumble and all of Cathe's Cardio & Weights.
Today will be Cathe's Hi/Low Intervals from Hardcore Extreme
Wednesday - Jari Love's - Get Ripped and Chiseled
Thursday - Rest Day

Hi Fitness Friends,

I am starting one of my New Year resolutions and starting an exercise blog. I have not been consistent in my exercises lately due to moving to a new place. So I am hoping this will help me get back into exercising regularly. My plan is to post my monthly rotations and views on workouts.

Background on me, My introduction to workout video's started with Tae Bo in 2001, but I quickly lost interest in these. I just did not click with Billy Blanks. In 2002 I saw an infomercial for The Firm's BBS1 and have been exercising regularly since. Since then I have add Cathe, Amy Bento, Cristi Tayor, Kelly Coffey Meyer and others to my fitness collection.
