Fe Fit Week 2

 Lower Body 1: Is a solid 30 min intermediate workout. Th only equipment needed is a mat and a set of light weights.
Most of the exercises were unweighted except to the table work.  Because of this I was surprise how workout my lower body was.


 The Gathering: Is the first workout in the set.  Lead by Rudy Mettia.  I found this workout tough and need to work on my strength.  He has you hold downward facing dog longer than I was prepared for.  By the end of the practice my shoulders were fried.  He slowly layers in poses for a vinyasa and couches you to skip some poses if it is your first time and getting tired.  Rudy has a calming voice need for a yoga instructor and will be doing this workout often.






Cardio Circuit 1: Is a none stop cardio workout that use no equipment. You do 6 sets of exercises.  Your sets include a standing cardio exercise, a plank cardio exercise, and abs work.  I did like this workout and will do it again.




Upper Body 1: Wow!  My upper body was fried at the end of this workout. All you need is a light set of hand weights. There was one exercise I did not use weights at all.  She will also have you do jumping jacks after each round of exercises. This helps bring your heart rate back up and also loosen the lactic acid build up.






The last day of the week I went for a nice long walk.

Fe Fit Week 1


Week One was supposed to consist of 5 workouts with 2 rest days.  I was only able to do three workouts.
Total Body Toning 1:  Is the first workout you do in the 90 day challenge. 
Equipment used:
A mat, a set of light weights, and one toning band

I thought this was an intermediate workout and felt 
workout at the end.  It was not a killer workout by any means but thought it was a good workout to get back into my routine.

Some will find the instructors voice annoying but I did not while doing the workout.  I did on preview.


Walking for Weight Loss: Is a walking workout lead by Jessica Smith and has two 30 min workouts on it with a separate warmup and cooldown.  I did the full 70 min DVD. 

Warm-up: 5.5 minutes
Workout: 60 minutes
High Energy Walk: 30 minutes (cardio)
Power Walk: 30 minutes (cardio)
Cool-down: 6.5 minutes (stretch)
Total Workout Time: 72 minutes


Before you could only find walking workouts made by Leslie Sansone and I hated them.  Her constant talking and boring marching in place made them so boring.  But not Jessica's.  I liked them and will do this one again.   Jessica has a modifier that shows you how to increase the intensity during the intervals.

Core 1: Is a none stop 30 min core workout.  I don't care for Core only workouts so I only found this one okay.

Getting Back to Fit.



The past five months I have been fighting colds and infections to where it forced my workouts to become sporadic. Two of those months I was under doctors’ orders to stop my workouts.  It has been so hard to get back to my workouts that I need to change things up.  I thought about picking up my barre rotation where I left off but the thought about doing a Dream Body workout did not appeal to me.  I knew I would not have the strength to do a advanced workout.    I decided on an intermediate rotation with barre, walking and yoga workouts.

Fe Fit – I saw some Fe Fit workouts on youtube and liked what I saw.  Even though these are marketed to mommies losing weight I liked that they were only 30 mins long.  This way when I get stronger I can double them up for a 60 min workout.   It is a 90 min intermediate program and so far I have done five of the workouts and liked them. Included in the kit was:

  • ·         7 fitness genres: Barre, Cardio Circuit, Core, Lower Body, Stretch Flow (our version of yoga), Total Body Toning, and Upper Body

Jessica Smith and Amy Bento Walking Workouts – In the Fe Fit rotation they have days where they want you to do a walking workout.  They do not include walking workouts so I added in Jessica Smith’s and Amy Bento walking workouts. 

Yoga Warrior 365 – On the Active Rests days I will add Yoga Warrior 365.  Yoga Warrior 365 comes with 15 workouts but in this rotation I am only doing a few of them.
